NASA Optical Tech Commercialization Catalog (OTCC)

NASA has been collecting capability statements from any small businesses which can develop mission-ready optical communication technologies at a NASA Technical Readiness Level (TRL)-5 and above. Selected businesses will be added to the Optical Tech Commercialization Catalog (OTCC). NASA will use the OTCC to award Indefinite Delivery, Idefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts for optical communication systems to the businesses with the required functional capabilites. These optical systems include spacecraft, suborbital flights, OGS, or high-altitude balloons.  Operational support also requires other ground equipment as well as software development and maintenance. [1]

The OTCC is currently seeking the following existing or in development Optical Component capabilities:

  • Optical Terminal and associated Controllers (OT/C),
  • High Power Optical Amplifiers (HPOA),
  • Optical Modems (OM),
  • Complete, integrated Optical Comm Systems (OCS)
  • Optical Switches (OS),
  • Optical Ground Terminals (OGT)
