WARPSPACE

Overview

Established in 2016, WARPSPACE is a Japanese telecommunication service for artificial satellite and CubeSat module development. [1] Originally a spin-out space startup from the University of Tsukuba, WARPSPACE has transitioned to a company with a board of directors and has received funding from The Space Frontier Fund and KSK Angel Fund LLC.

They are currently developing the “WarpHub Intersat” which is scheduled to be launched at the end of 2022. This project is to be the world’s first inter-satellite optical communication relay network service using small optical relay satellites in LEP. The service should start operating commercially in 2023. WarpHub Intersat will enable the satellites to constantly communicate with ground stations via high-speed optical communication, which also enables the satellite operators to access more satellite data in near real-time contributing to the realization of a sustainable global economy.
